Why I wrote this
"The inaccurate stuff I'd heard".
I've heard various statements which probably arose from a lack of clear, concrete detail about LCPS, such as "other schools aren't wanted" and "you shouldn't wear your (other) uniform". As the links in part four show, these are not quite right.
-
Although the uniform requirements are made puposely lax for ease and affordability the feeling is that you would be better off turning up, joining in and having fun instead of letting the colour of your shirt/blouse keep you home alone. Even I'm going to shell out for a tie!
-
Others schools' representatives are welcome, it's only advised to join a gang. (Actually this could be an advantage: you could turn up in a different outfit to a couple of events and join different gangs - your other uniform won't commit you to specific gang. Then you'd be in a good position to decide which you liked best before getting an LCPS-specific uniform*.)
-
Originally there was no information as to the holding of a quiz: details of this only came out recently. The latest news is that there will be a quiz between two teams - the Knights and the Dragons. Given the low academic standard of the LCPS I suspect team members will be drafted in from visitors!
And other reasons:
- It has helped clear up my own thoughts about the LCPS.
- It's well past time I wrote something new on this site!
*Sorry Ish, hope this idea doesn't undermine the structure & stability of the gangs too much.
